Simplex Caravan Kit
There was only one example of this extraordinary loco supplied to a UK company, as it was normally export only. The prototype, built in 1938, was used for moving tipper wagons around the Bedfordshire brick pits and survives to this day on the Leighton Buzzard Narrow Gauge Railway. That particular example was painted in JCB Yellow, although the last time we saw it the colour had faded so much it looked more like Magnolia emulsion! The maximum load these small Simplex locos could manage was about four loaded skip wagons so a prototype length train is achievable for a very reasonable outlay.  Our kit is of all-metal construction using both pre-cut brass and white metal castings and can be assembled using either low-melt solder or epoxy resin.  It comes complete with a ready-built chassis with battery holder and switch; all you need to supply is paint, solder or glue and batteries (2xAAA).
